Mission Bay

Day 77, Monday 6 November 2017

Mission Bay is one of Auckland’s most popular beaches, with a diverse range of people there almost every day. The beach is sandy, with safe swimming and a nice view of Rangitoto Island. Pōhutukawa trees line the beach and give shade. Some are flowering already, but they’ll be even more spectacular in another five or six weeks.

Selwyn Reserve separates the beach from a long line of cafes, and is a good place for a picnic.

Distance travelled: 25 km. Total distance so far: 11,326 km
