West Coast beaches

Day 86, Wednesday 15 November 2017

On a ride today with North Harbour Ulysses, we decided to tour some of the beaches on the West Coast of Auckland. We started at Te Henga/Bethells Beach, which I last visited a month ago), then rode along Scenic Drive, Piha Road and Lone Kauri Road to Karekare (last visited on 6 October). We had lunch at Piha (last visited in July, before I started this blog). After lunch we took the 10 km gravel road to Anawhata Bay overlook. I was last at Anawhata Bay about four years ago, but haven’t ever been there on a motorcycle before.

The first picture is of Lion Rock at Piha, taken from Anawhata Road. The second picture is at the carpark overlooking Anawhata Beach. The third is looking down at Anawhata.

Distance travelled: 152 km. Total distance so far: 12,815 km
