North Head

Day 91, Monday 20 November 2017

North Head is a volcanic cone near Devonport with fabulous views over the North Shore and Auckland city, but it’s best known for the network of tunnels and bunkers created by the military in the 1880s to fend off a Russian invasion that never came. Today was warm and bright, a good day to explore the area.

Distance travelled: 39 km. Total distance so far: 13,111 km
