Day 102, Friday 1 December 2017.
Today I found a beach I’ve never been to before. Mill Bay is off Huia Road, between Laingholm and Cornwallis. It’s a small shelly beach, and when the tide is out as it was this afternoon, the water is a long way away. There’s a large grassy area lined with pōhutukawa trees, which would be ideal for a picnic spot. Across the Manukau Harbour are nice views of the Āwhitu peninsula, and looking up at a notch in the trees of the Pūponga peninsula I could just see the McLachlan Monument (which I’ll make the subject of a later post).
Distance travelled: 51 km. Total distance so far: 14,897 km
