Monte Cecilia Park and Pah Homestead

Day 110, Saturday 9 December 2017.

Monte Cecilia was once a pa site, and then became the grounds for one of the largest and grandest homes, Pah Homestead. It’s now a park, and the restored house holds the Wallace Art Trust’s collections. There are views to One Tree Hill and over the Manukau Harbour. There are some huge trees, and in particular the original driveway to the house is lovely with the trees lining the path.

Since I last visited it, the primary school which was opposite the homestead entrance has gone.

Distance travelled: 11 km. Total distance so far: 15,677 km
