Onehunga lagoon

Day 115, Thursday 14 December 2017.

Last week I visited the Onehunga foreshore, the recent redevelopment of the area between the motorway and Manukau Harbour to the west. Today I rode to the Onehunga lagoon on the east side of the motorway. It’s connected to the foreshore by two footbridges. The lagoon is swimmable at high tide, but at low tide, when I visited, it’s quite muddy and not very scenic. A wakeboard park was added to the lagoon last year; an electric cable pulls board riders around the lagoon and over jumps.
