Packard Motor Museum

Day 170, Wednesday 7 February 2018.

I took a group of North Harbour Ulyssians up to Maungatapere to see the Packard Motor Museum today. This is a collection of cars, other motor vehicles, and assorted technology, specialising in Packards, a brand of American luxury cars which was produced from 1899 to 1958. The Packard collection, which starts with 1920s models, is impressive. The collection of other cars and motorcycles, mostly British, is worth seeing too. There are also collections of various technologies such as sewing machines and lawnmowers. We were given a guided tour and several of the cars were started for us. I recommend this museum for people who are interested in old vehicles.

Distance travelled: 371 km. Total distance so far: 22,752 km
