Taipari Strand

Day 178, Thursday 15 February 2018.

I continued my exploration of the Te Atatu peninsula today with Taipari Strand on the north-western side. There’s a pontoon for the launching of small craft, and walkways going north and south. To the north it crosses some mangroves, then goes up steps and joins a street away from the water, while to the south it loops around a large crescent-shaped field, with mangroves on one side and houses on the other (mostly separated by trees and a bank). There are bits of shade along the path, but overall it’s more exposed to the sun than I’m really comfortable with.

Distance travelled: 33 km. Total distance so far: 23,384 km
