Te Kauwhata

Day 258, Sunday 6 May 2018

I joined an Auckland Ulysses ride today which braved showery weather around Waikato roads, getting as far south as the outskirts of Huntly before turning back to have lunch at Te Kauwhata.

Te Kauwhata is a rapidly growing town as Aucklanders look for cheaper property prices while still being within commuting distance. The main street doesn’t reflect this as yet, as it hasn’t changed noticeably in the few years I’ve been coming here. The article I linked to above mentions a New World supermarket to replace the Four Square, but a year after that was published the Four Square is still there.

Distance travelled: 238 km. Total distance so far: 34,039 km
