I went riding with Auckland Midweek Riders today. The other three riders were all off-duty police officers. I met two of them before on a ride up Awhitu Peninsula. A pleasant ride, with a pace a little faster than I’m used to, but I stuck to what I was comfortable with and caught up whenever the others got stuck behind a slow-moving vehicle. We had lunch at the Matakana Village Pub. Matakana has many excellent cafes although in general they are on the pricey side. The pub was a poor choice for lunch as they had no light food options other than chips.
