Arch Hill Scenic Reserve

Day 273, Monday 21 May 2018

Arch Hill reserve is a strip of land along the side of the Northwestern Motorway. There’s a walking track through regenerating native forest rich with tree ferns, and a series of mountain bike tracks rated for beginner or intermediate riders. In some places the walking track opens out into grassland. I think the track must not get a lot of use, as there is one spot where a branch has fallen off a tree and is partially blocking the path. If it fell as a result of last month’s storms, I’m surprised the council hasn’t removed it yet.

This is a nice area, but the noise from the motorway a few metres away is a bit intrusive.

Distance travelled: 9 km. Total distance so far: 35,581 km
